It is hard to believe that the last week of May has come and gone! Even with a 4 day week, the students and I accomplished ALOT! In Wonders, we read a few Greek Myths! Wow, the students were very interested in Greek Myths and how they were written. We learned that myths include gods and goddesses and a lesson! We read about Pandora's Box and King Midas and the Golden Touch. In their reading groups, the students performed a short play based on a Greek myth.
We have begun to research about an animal's life cycle. The students chose an animal and read a short expository text about it. Next, the students are taking notes on the animal so that they can write a short magazine article about the animal's life cycle! :-)
In math, we have moved on to lines, line segments, rays and on Friday we began looking at different types of angles. We will continue to work on these concepts through the end of the school year.
We continue to study the crayfish's body for our quiz on Friday, June 6th. Mrs. Selby even created a diagram on the computer and we labeled the crayfish on there! I am confident that the students will be ready for their test!
Bring on June!
