This was a very exciting week for us in Mrs. Lizza’s classroom! We welcomed our newest members of the classroom on Monday. They are Crayfish and will be staying with us the remainder of the school year! We will be sharing them with Mrs. Gallinaro’s classroom as well. There are a total of four, and we will be observing them for science. We have already learned so much from them already, and even gave them special names.
We finished up learning about the life cycle of plants this week, and will be taking our unit test next Wednesday. Please don’t forget to use those flash cards that we made in class to study! The students have been working very hard and we are so proud of them.
In math this week we continued learning about graphs, and started pictographs and bar graphs! We are doing a wonderful job in math, and we even got to create our own pictographs. We surveyed the class in groups, and made up our own topics. We really enjoyed getting to know what each others favorite desserts, sports, animal, and drinks were!
In Wonders we started a new week on Teamwork, and how we can help others. We read a fascinating story about rescue dogs and how they are trained to help others. We also read about how fire fighters rescue others, and it was very interesting to read how they are our heros!
We have the trade fair on Friday, and Mrs. Lizza and I are extremely excited to see what the students are going to bring in to trade. We know how hard they have been working on those handmade items, and we can't wait to see everyones creative pieces!
