Week of 1-12

This week was filled with lots of different things!  We worked in the computer lab to finish our MAP testing for the winter.  The students will be paid if they beat their score from the fall and if you ask your child, you will soon find out that most of them did beat their score!  I am proud of the progress that the students have made!

On Friday, we had a special assembly about "Reach New Heights of Kindness."  I hope that your child mentioned this to you!  I am very excited about spreading kindness!  Here is the link to a form that you can fill out if you receive an act of kindness.

On Wednesday, January 21st, we have a science test!  In order to prepare, we made flashcards for the vocabulary words and created a foldable!  The students and I have learned so much about volcanoes and the layers of the Earth.  We also were able to do some fun science experiments!  The students made their own volcano and we were able to watch them explode.  I sent home the directions, as it was very easy to do!

This week, we read historical fiction stories.  They both involved Abraham Lincoln in some way. The students and I also discussed idioms!  We had fun discussing the meaning of them and laughing at the silly ones!

Please don't forget to study the Spanish terms as well as the science vocabulary words!

Have a great long weekend!  See you Tuesday! :-)
