My Hollywood Third Graders have impressed me these first few days of school! They are all stars to me! We have shared about ourselves, read lots of books, and even used the STARboard! On Friday, we had a great assembly about our new theme this year, SOAR TO NEW HEIGHTS...READ! The whole school is going to be focused on reading, reading, and more reading! We saw pictures of each teacher reading over their summer vacation and even said a reading pledge. Next, we met our book buddies, the 5th graders! The 5th graders made a paper airplane with their name on it. They threw the airplanes and we ran to get one. We looked for a name on the airplane and that was our buddy! Our last activity was to read a book with our 5th grade book buddy! Miss Harkins, Mrs. Gallinaro, and Mrs. Lizza have lots of fun activities planned for the school year!
