Happy December!

Who can believe that December is already here?  Our theme of the month is responsibility and the students wrote how they can light up the world with responsibility.  Students chose somethings that they are responsible for at home and school.   They wrote on a Christmas Light and we displayed them in the hallway.

You may also notice the "elephant" drawings below the lights.  The third graders met with their kindergarten book buddy to make buddy elephant drawings.  They traced each other's hands and made the hands into elephants. They turned out so cute!

In science, we continued to study the layers of the Earth.  Each layer is quite different and we learned facts about each one.  A fun project was made as each student cut out each layer and wrote facts on each.  We hung these up around the classroom to help us remember the layers of the Earth.  It is difficult to see the facts on each layer, but they are there!

Next week, you will find our reading test coming home, as well as a math quiz.  The math quiz focused on the area of rectangles and squares.  We will continue to work on this skill because next week we will take a unit test on multiplication.  Have a fabulous weekend!
