Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Break started with a bang!  The students had the opportunity to watch the teachers put on a fun dance because of all the money that was raised for JDRF.  I was part of the Single Ladies dance and the other dance was the Whip, Nae, Nae!  A fun time was had by all!

The students and I finished up our Wonders week and took our weekly assessment, which came home right before Thanksgiving.  We continue to work on the vocabulary words for each passage, as well as the reading strategies.  That week, we also wrote turkey limericks.  We learned that limericks have specific rules that must be followed!  The students loved writing their own funny limericks and I hope that they shared them with you.

In math, multiplication was continued!  We are now working on squares and rectangles, as well as finding the area.  It will show the students that multiplication is used in everyday life.  The students are improving on their multiplication facts, as I tested them on Monday!  I had multiple students who passed the next facts and were able to move on!  Great Job!

I look forward to what December brings!!  Thank you so much for coming to conferences so we could discuss your child's progress so far in third grade!
