This week, we wrapped up our animal reports on an endangered animal! The students chose some interesting animals, and some that I wasn't every familiar with. They wrote a three paragraph report on the animal and did a fantastic job.
We read multiple poems this week for Wonders! We discussed the difference between limericks and free verse poems. The comprehension skill was point of view, which was continued from last week. We also looked at similes and what they mean and why the author would put the simile in the poem. Our last reading test of 2014 was given and the students did wonderful! I will send them home!
The third graders are wrapping up their winter holiday projects! We have made posters with facts, photographs, and drawings. The students have become experts on the holiday and will report on the holiday on Monday.
The students have been such troopers these past few weeks! We have had lots of quizzes and tests and the students never complain and have done exactly what they are supposed to do! Even in the midst of the December madness!
:-) See you Monday!
