Who can believe that April is over and May is now here!? This school year, as it always does, is flying by!
Once again, we have continued to prepare for the NJ ASK. The class read an interesting biography about Thurgood Marshall. We discussed main idea and details. We also worked on fluent reading. During reading, the students had to determine the author's point of view about issues, including how the author felt about treating people differently based on the color of their skin. We had some interesting conversations! :-) Mrs. Miller and I worked on writing answers to open-ended questions, which will be on the NJ ASK.
In math, we continued to review!!!!! You can study multiplication facts at home. Students need this practice!
WOOHOO Crayfish! The third graders are sharing three crayfish and were divided into observation groups. It was a lot of fun to observe the crayfish and some third graders were even brave enough to pick up the crayfish!!! Mrs. Gallinaro's student helper showed us how to do it without getting pinched. We made up crayfish rules and have learned TONS of facts about them!
DON'T FORGET! We are still collecting items for the military. The NJ ASK is from May 13-16 in third grade. Please be sure your child gets a good night sleep and a healthy breakfast those mornings! :-)
