PARCC Week

**A blog update from Miss Prettyman**

This week, the students worked extremely hard during the PARCC test. We also continued working on fractions, and made a couple of cool crafts. The students made a fraction pizza, which consisted of toppings on their choice! They wrote which fraction of toppings were on their pizzas, and it was interesting to see the different pizzas. We also made fraction flowers, and we created a fraction garden to display them! Even though it snowed this week, it is nice to see some signs of spring.

The students have been working very hard on their inquiry groups this week. They have been researching, paraphrasing, and practicing what they are going to share with the class. We will be presenting our groups on Tuesday and Wednesday with Mrs. Gallinaro’s class. We are very excited to share what we have found, and also to learn about other cool topics!

On Friday we had a special treat, we watched The Lorax! We had previously read about The Lorax  on Dr. Seuss day, and we made our own Lorax characters on how we would help save the Earth. The students really enjoyed this story, and it was a nice relaxing way to end the week!
