A new dance craze, the Harlem Shake, has hit America! Have you seen any of the funny videos online? Well, we decided to make our own!!! In third grade, we have been taking "brain breaks" to help us be ready to learn for the rest of the school day! The students have been AWESOME at participating in them, so I decided we should make our very own. I have been working to edit the brain break and will be showing the students on Monday! They had a blast!!! :-)
In science, we have continued our unit on the water cycle. Students created a mini-book to help them remember the stages and we have been watching is awesome song! Click here! Eventually we will be taking a quiz on it, but I will let you know with plenty of time!
Supply and demand is our social studies unit this month. Students learned what happens to prices when supply is high and demand is low...the prices go down! Our example was too many apples plus not enough people buying apples equals a lower price! We also discussed the opposite, when supply is low and demand is high! We all thought of things on EBAY.
In Language Arts, we took the Theme 8 test, which should have been signed and returned to school. The children did fantastic on this! Many, many high grades! In Theme 9, we have learned about how paper is made. We even found some neat videos online from paper mills.
The students also cashed in most of their money to earn a compliment party! On Monday, we will be going outside for extra recess and having a treat! :-) Great Job Third Grade! Another great week accomplished! I love third grade!
