I have the sweetest class ever! I was so surprised today when the class had a baby shower for me during the Valentine's Day party! The students were so excited to help me celebrate and open the gifts. Mr. Lizza, Joseph, and I had a lot of fun opening the gifts again and talking about my baby shower! Thank you again!
This week, we finished up Unit 3 in Wonders and began Unit 4. The essential question is "What choices are good for us?" We discussed what good choices are and read about a man and his son who made some "interesting choices." The story was "Nail Soup," which is very similar to "Stone Soup." We are focusing on the comprehension skill of point of view. The students also finished writing a book review of a book they have read. The book review included a summary and the students' opinions. Great job third grade!
We also finished up Unit 7 in math. We are beginning Unit 8, which consists of fraction skills. This is a tough skill for third graders to master, so don't worry if your child is struggling. We will continue to practice, practice, practice!
