Good Saturday Morning!
This week, we had "snow much fun." We made a Thunder Cake, in honor of Patricia Polocco's book, Thunder Cake. At first, we weren't too sure how it was going to be, but it ended up delicious! The secret ingredient was purred tomatoes! The students took the Theme 4 assessment, which will be coming home next week to be signed.
A new theme was started about dangerous weather, how ironic! We have read The Llama's Secret about a llama that tells his owners that a great flood is coming. He saves his owner's life! We had a review week of homophones. We wrote sentences with pairs of homophones on a snowman! I found a few games online that we played on the Starboard! :-)
In math, we continued to review multiplication facts. PLEASE, review these at home. Extended facts were also introduced, but students must be proficient at basic facts first!
We had one final assessment on city hall departments, which was sent home on Friday. In science, inquiry posters are done as well as power points. We will be ready to present to you on Friday, Feb. 22nd. We will meet in Room 208, then head down to the computer lab to watch power points. Then we will head back upstairs to watch the students give their presentations. We will rotate from group to group. I hope you or any family member are able to make it. Let me know if you have any questions.
